Borsalino - Monday Macchiato
On 4 April 1857, Giuseppe Borsalino started a workshop in Alessandria (Piedmont) that specialized in the production of felt hats. Fast froward: Borsalino produced no less then 2.000.000 hats anually in the beginning of the last century!
Around 1950 the formal hat feel into disuse. The Borsalino hat subsequently became a cult object, honoured with its own post stamp in 2017.
Do you have or would love one? Treasure it: the popular straw models, still made in Allessandria, are hand twisted and can take up to 6 months to make, for a single hat.
